The concept of generating new collagen and elastin through the use of controlled injury to the skin has been studied for many years, with some of the first needle procedures recorded as far back as 1905. Microneedling as we commercially know it today has evolved with the contributions of many and has gained popularity in recent years as a non-surgical, minimally invasive cosmetic procedure for skin rejuvenation.
The science backed device by MediMD has multiple tiny needles to create controlled injuries on the skin. It is an FDA approved and CE Marked device that has 8 depths and 5 speeds which enables the clinician to readily tailor the treatments to the individual’s skin care needs. The purpose of creating these micro-injuries is to stimulate the skin’s natural healing response, which can lead to several benefits, such as increased collagen production, improved skin texture, and reduced appearance of fine lines, wrinkles, and scars.
During a microneedling session, our trained professionals will use skin enhancing serums and gently glide the device over the targeted area, such as the face, neck, chest or even the hands to puncture the skin and trigger the natural healing response. After the procedure, the skin may appear slightly red or swollen, but this typically subsides within a few hours to a day. For optimal results, multiple microneedling sessions may be required, depending on the individual’s skin concerns and goals.

Dermaplaning has evolved from the times in acient Egypt when women used sharpened pumice stones or seashells to remove unwanted facial hair and exfoliate the skin. It is now a modern and popular procedure that involves using a sterile scalpel to gently shave the surface of the skin. This technique is typically used on the face to remove dead skin cells and fine hairs, which are also known as “peach fuzz.” And it can help to improve the overall texture and appearance of the skin.
Dermaplaning has over the years received lots of attention with a particular rise in its popularity seen in the 2000s. It was once thought to be able to cure acne however that was later disapproved, but the procedure remained a suitable treatment for most skin types, in particular dry skin and including sensitive skin. Dermaplaning is a non-invasive and relatively quick procedure that requires no downtime.  After the procedure, your skin may look and feel smoother and brighter and makeup may go on more smoothly. It is important to note that dermaplaning should not be performed on skin that is sunburned, irritated or has active acne.

LED Light Therapy

LED light therapy is a non-invasive skincare treatment that uses various wavelengths of light to target specific skin concerns and promote overall skin health. It involves the use of LED (light-emitting diode) devices that emit different colours of light to penetrate the skin at varying depths.
Each colour of light has different benefits and targets specific skin concerns:
1. Red Light: Stimulates collagen production, reduces inflammation, and promotes skin rejuvenation. It is commonly used to address signs of aging, such as fine lines and wrinkles.
2. Blue Light: Kills bacteria and helps treat acne and breakouts. It can also help regulate oil production and improve the overall condition of acne-prone skin.
3. Green Light: Calms irritated skin, reduces redness, and helps with hyperpigmentation and sunspots. It can also help even out skin tone and improve overall complexion.
4. Yellow Light: Improves circulation, reduces redness, and promotes lymphatic drainage. It can help with rosacea, sun damage, and flushing.
5. Purple Light: Combines the benefits of red and blue light therapy. It can help with acne, inflammation, and promote overall skin rejuvenation.
LED light therapy is a gentle and painless treatment that is suitable for all skin types. It can be used as a standalone treatment or in combination with other skincare procedures.
