Our Laser
The Motus Ay by DEKA with Lynton
What is a laser?
Light Amplification Stimulated Emission of Radiation It’s an acronym!
In Hair Removal treatments, the laser targets the hair follicle. Melanin, (pigment) in the hair absorbs the light and produces heat. This heat damages the hair follicle in such a way as to inhibit regrowth, (it damages the stem cells in the bulb and bulge). The hairs in the active growth stage will then naturally fall out over a period of 1 to 3 weeks.
Hair growth cycle:
Hair alternates in periods of growth (anagen) and no growth (telogen); the transition between the two periods is called catagen; In Catagen growth is arrested but hair still nourished from the papilla.
During a hair removal session all the hairs growth are hit, with no way of knowing in which phase, therefore, a series of laser sessions is always necessary to ensure maximum hair removal.
With Motus AY two different operating modes can be used in Hair Removal treatments. Both standard and Moveo are outstanding performers. With the Moveo mode being a newer concept recently introduced by DEKA the 755 nm Alexandrite laser is used throughout all the Fitzpatrick skin types with the main advantages of both Alex and Nd:YAG wavelengths and all of this virtually ‘pain free’.
4T Kit
Platelet-Rich Plasma
4T Medical provide products used at MediLase for the preparation of platelet-rich plasma.
There products are designed to provide high quality and standardised PRP preparations for medical professionals. Their systems are expertly designed for platelet-rich plasma preparations, ensuring the proper handling, processing, and delivery of PRP to maximise its therapeutic potential.
PLATELETS are key factors in tissue repair mechanisms, they provide essential growth factors which are involved in stem cell migration differentiation and proliferation. Platelets also stimulate fibroblasts and endothelial cells to induce the disposition of new extracellular matrix and neovascularisation, respectively. The platelets are concentrated from the patients own blood.
PLASMA contains many factors essential for cell survival including nutrients, vitamins, hormones, electrolytes, growth factors and proteins. Among the plasma proteins, the molecules vital for the coagulation process and for formation of the fibrin polymer will serve as a scaffold for cell migration and new tissue generation.
Some scientific advantages include: Demonstrated safety and efficacy and evidence based outcomes for numerous therapeutic indications.
Some technology advantages include: Minimum volume of blood required and a mechanical isolation of PRP.
Some biological advantages include: high platelet quality.
Plasmapen
Non-Invasive with Amazing Results
The Plasma Pen, developed by Louise Walsh, is a cosmetic device that utilizes the science of plasma technology to perform various skincare treatments. Here are some key aspects of the science behind the Plasma Pen:
1. Plasma Technology: The Plasma Pen uses a technology called “plasma” to achieve skin rejuvenation and correction. Plasma is created by ionizing gas particles, which generate a controlled and targeted energy source. This energy is used to heat and stimulate the skin’s tissues without actually touching the skin surface.
2. Sublimation Process: The plasma energy emitted by the Plasma Pen causes a process called sublimation. Sublimation refers to the transformation of a solid directly into a gas without going through a liquid phase. When the plasma comes into contact with the skin, it creates a controlled micro-injury, vaporising the superficial layers of the skin. This process stimulates the skin’s natural healing response and promotes collagen production.
3. Fibroblast Stimulation: The controlled micro-injuries created by the Plasma Pen activate fibroblasts, which are cells responsible for collagen and elastin production in the skin. The stimulation of fibroblasts helps to tighten and lift the skin, reducing the appearance of wrinkles, scars, and other skin imperfections.
4. Non-Surgical Alternative: The Plasma Pen offers a non-surgical alternative to traditional invasive procedures such as facelifts or eyelid surgeries. It can be used for various treatments, including skin tightening, wrinkle reduction, scar revision, pigmentation correction, and skin resurfacing.
5. Precision and Control: The Plasma Pen allows for precise and controlled treatment. The device emits plasma energy through a small probe, which enables the practitioner to target specific areas of concern with accuracy. This precision ensures minimal damage to surrounding tissues and reduces the risk of complications.
6. Downtime and Recovery: The Plasma Pen treatment typically results in a downtime period during which the skin undergoes the healing process. The treated areas may appear red, swollen, or scabbed initially, but these effects usually subside within a few days to a week. The recovery time may vary depending on the intensity of the treatment and individual healing capabilities.
The device used has obtained a CE mark, which indicates that the product meets the European Union’s Safety, health and environmental protection requirements.
